I Love New York (the town, not the Yankees)

New York treated us very well on Friday night. The trip down was uneventful, which was good. Got to the club just fine. Hit the stage at 11 on the dot, very happy with the fact that the place was packed. The crowd was great and animated. Didn’t really have any technical difficulties. Actually, I was the only one that had problems. The throne they had there (which I used) would not stay set. So, every time I would get into it and start to hit hard, the seat would drop about 6 inches. Finally, by the finale of our set (Baba O’Reilly, once again), I stopped fighting it and just lowered the snare, instead. I’m a slow learner.

Regardless, the show was our best NYC show ever. Thank you to everyone that came.

Didn’t really get any pics that night. Just have the one below. Jay had a rock in his sock.

Sal testing out Jay’s new guitar

Here is a wonderful picture of our friend, Sal, making sure Jay’s guitar is ready for tonight’s performance.

Whoa… that was fun

Friday night was one of the most fun times I’ve had in a while. Age Rings and Bon Savants were amazing, the crowd was loud and rowdy, and I thought we played the way we wanted to play. Thank you to all that came and shared the evening with us. Currently, we are sore, some of us are in various forms of splints to heal injuries incurred at the show, and we’re looking forward to playing for you all again (which will be a weekend at Great Scott in May). Until later, be good.

Rec. Release Show!!!

Tickets are on sale for Don’t Steal My Night Vision’s release show. It’s going to be amazing. Bon Savants and Age Rings are playing with us, both of which we have never played with before (which seems really strange to me). Regardless, it’s going to be amazing. Our first time headlining the Paradise, and we couldn’t be more excited.

We’ve created a Facebook event page for it, so go there and let us know you’re coming. Click here.

Oh yeah – tickets. Get them here.

YES.

New Album Details!

Our new record, titled Don’t Steal My Night Vision, has a release date! Lunch Records will be releasing the album in stores and on iTunes on Tuesday, March 10th.

Here’s the cover:
Don't Steal My Night Vision

… and here’s the track listing:
1. We Have Arrived
2. The Less We’re Impressed
3. Darwin’s Club
4. Creatures of Habit
5. Star In Your Own Movie
6. Settle Down Ghost
7. Night Vision
8. 15 Years
9. Marionette
10. You Always Felt Like Family

It’s worth noting that Settle Down Ghost and Marionette are much different versions than what appeared on 2007’s split LP with Dear Leader. Maclaine’s guitar parts were added, and they were completely remixed.

Before the new album comes out, the first single will be released digitally on iTunes and it will come with a B side. That first single is We Have Arrived (you can listen to it on our site right now), and the B side is a song called Warm Shelter and Clothes. That all happens on February 24th.

This is all so exciting for us. We have worked our asses off writing + recording these songs, and we’re so eager to get the album into your hands. Many updates to come.

Don’t Steal My Night Vision

Sorry we’ve been so out of touch. The truth is, we’re going nutz getting everything ready for our BRAND new record to come out (Don’t Steal My Night Vision)! 10 songs you’re gonna love. PLUS, b-sides that will be released with 3 singles. So, that’s 13 songs. OH YES! Big details on their way (release dates, record release shows, new site, etc. etc. etc.) We will be in touch with you very soon.

Photos from Great Scott

The show the other night was amazing. Sorry to those of you that couldn’t make it in – we were not expecting it to sell out so early.

Getting Ready

Timmy is getting ready to rock the low notes tonight. Watch out!

Album cover shoot

Today/tonight, we headed over to Mikey’s to shoot photos for the album artwork. Maclaine had the plan, and the rest of us did as we were told. It came out even better than we were expecting. Below are some pics from today. Why is Jay wearing Christmas lights?
